Clean, healthy living
We never used any synthetic chemicals on the garden or pastures and neither did the family that lived here for over 20 years before us.

There are 20 acres of land in a perfect rectangle: the front half is pasture and the back half is woods with many walking paths cut through it. We raised cattle, hogs, sheep, chickens, and turkeys all on rich pasture. They don't call this Green Country for nothing!
The pond is really special. It is surrounded on three sides with trees with a beautiful walking path cut through the middle for an amazing morning walk. We enjoyed paddling around in the rowboat that stays with the property. Sit and enjoy the great variety of birds and wildlife!
Sit in the front yard and enjoy watching your "neighbors"--cows and horses. There are great neighbors down the road but none are visible from the house. This is peace and quiet like you have probably never experienced. Wildlife? You betcha. And the stargazing?! Just. Wow.

This is a panoramic taken from the back of the pasture looking toward the house. Yes, this could all be yours! Can't you picture Julie Andrews spinning and singing here?
Firewood? Not a problem.
With 10 acres of woods, we used only fallen trees (never had to kill any) to heat our home in winter. It does wonders for your utility bills!
There is a 1/2 acre fenced garden. Enjoy the purple asparagus bed, the 100 foot row of thornless blackberries, and the organic soil that we have been adding truckloads of mulch to for years.

No, the bees aren't still there (because I love them) but there is a perfect site for bees with a little shed for housing their equipment. I'll even hook you up with people that can help you get started if you so desire.
Though the pasture is fenced, we used electric netting to rotationally graze in smaller paddocks to keep the land healthy and happy.
No sprinklers have touched anything you see here. With 50+ inches of water a year with rain coming regularly throughout the season, you don't need them. We do have a drip system in the garden to keep the young plants moist but only turn it on a few times a year. You have all water rights in Oklahoma: if it's on or under your land, it's yours. Coming from out west, it has been so delightful. The house is connected to city water but there is a well. We used it for irrigation.
